ISULAN, Sultan Kudarat. The Regional Land Use Committee (RLUC) XII, endorsed the Sultan Kudarat Climate Disaster Risk Assessment (CDRA)-enhanced Provincial Development and Physical Framework Plan (PDPFP) 2022-2031 during its Special Meeting on 29 June 2021 at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Session Hall, Provincial Capitol, Isulan, Sultan Kudarat.

The CDRA-enhanced PDPFP articulates the aspirations of the provincial leadership and the province’s citizenry towards the attainment of the new vision for the province which is – “A sustainable agro-industrial and eco-cultural tourism province with God – centered, safe, and resilient Sultan Kudarateños enjoying environment-friendly and healthy life led by people – oriented governance.” On the other hand, the development thrust and spatial strategy of the Plan is acronymed SK SIKAT KA or the Sultan Kudarat Sustainable Inter-linK of Agro-Industrial and agri-eco-cultural Tourism. The Plan also took into account the vulnerability and exposure of the province to different hazards which are triggered by geologic, hydrometeorological, and volcanic origins, as well as climate change. The plan likewise identified strategies, programs and projects to address the cross-cutting development issues on health, economy, environment, governance, and infrastructure of the province.

The meeting was presided by RLUC XII Chairperson NEDA XII Regional Director Teresita Socorro C. Ramos. She emphasized that with the PDPFP now in place, the future direction of Sultan Kudarat has been systematically planned with the corresponding strategies laid out to reach the vision by 2031. On the other hand, Governor Suharto T. Mangudadatu, through Provincial Administrator Jimmy C. Andang, expressed the Provincial Government’s gratitude to RLUC XII for extending technical assistance to improve and enhance the PDPFP.

After a thorough deliberation among the Committee members with inputs from the technical working group and local planning team to ensure the consistency with prescribed policies and alignment of the planning document with higher level plans, the RLUC XII passed Resolution No. 06, series of 2022 entitled “Endorsing the Sultan Kudarat Climate Disaster Risk Assessment (CDRA)- Enhanced Provincial Development and Physical Framework Plan (PDPFP) 2022-2031 to the Provincial Government through its Sangguniang Panlalawigan for Adoption and Implementation.” Sultan Kudarat’s Vice-Governor Jose Remos P. Segura, immediately after the RLUC XII Special Meeting, said that the Sangguniang Panlalawigan will have a Special Session to act on the RLUC XII endorsement. (Kate D. Espero, NEDA XII-PFPD)
