KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato – The NEDA XII provided technical assistance to Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) XII in capacitating Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Managers in plan preparation. The training was held on October 6-7, 2021 via blended mode.

The technical assistance was in response to the request of the League of Public Employment Service Office Managers Region 12 (LPMR), through DOLE XII, for help in the crafting of the PESO Employment Facilitation Plan.

NEDA XII Regional Director Teresita Socorro C. Ramos in her welcome remarks said that NEDA XII was deeply honored to be given the opportunity to share with the PESO managers and their team, NEDA XII’s knowledge and experience in plan preparation. Such experience was, accumulated through the years in terms of the preparation of various types of development plans, and even in technical assistance to LGUs in the preparation of their Local Development Plans.

The topics covered during the training were on strategic planning, the linkage of the PESO Employment Facilitation Plan with other plans at the national, regional and local levels, including the Philippines’ international commitment where labor and employment, jobs generations are primary concerns. The participants likewise learned about the various planning tools, approaches and techniques to come up with comprehensive situation analysis, vision, goals and objectives setting, and in identifying the programs, projects and activities. To ensure that a draft output was generated at the end of the training, workshops were embedded after each of the lectures.

DOLE Assistant Regional Director Arlene Bisnon extended her office’s gratitude to NEDA XII for readily providing the requested capacity building activity. On the other hand, Nur Juanday, PESO Manager of LGU-General Santos City speaking on behalf of the participants said, “we value this type of activity, as it showed us the importance of our PESO Plan and its contribution to providing quality and decent jobs to Filipinos. Thank you NEDA Region XII and DOLE Region XII.” At the end of the 2-day activity, each participant was awarded with a Certificate of Completion duly signed by both the NEDA XII and DOLE XII Regional Directors.
