City of Koronadal, South Cotabato – The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Regional Office XII kicked-off the Civil Service Month celebration with a launching of the NEDA XII Sports Fest held at the NEDA Regional Office XII Building, Prime Regional Government Center, Barangay Carpenter Hill, Koronadal City on September 6, 2018.
The launching started with a zumba fitness exercise early in the morning and followed by the opening program. Mr. John Aurel P. Betque, Senior Economic Development Specialist (EDS) of NEDA XII – Project Development Investment Programming and Budgeting Division (PDIPBD) led the oath of sportsmanship for the NEDA XII staff. Weekly friendship games on scrabble and volleyball shall be played between the two (2) newly organized sports teams of NEDA XII.
In his opening message, Assistant Regional Director Noel E. Quiratman emphasized the importance of healthy lifestyle that supports the acceleration of human capital development, saying a healthy public servant ensures better delivery of public services. He also mentioned that in promoting public service, a government worker should be apolitical. Public servant should have no interest or involvement to any political affiliation, but should only be loyal to the institution that he or she serves and never to any individual.
The Civil Service Month is celebrated every September of the year. This year marks the 118th anniversary of Philippine Civil Service with the theme – Lingkod Bayani: Makadiyos, Makatao, Makabayan.
The NEDA XII Civil Service Month celebration will culminate on September 27, 2018 with an awarding ceremony of the NEDA XII Sports Fest. (Evie Arabis Cabulanan, NEDA XII-DRD)
