Koronadal City, South Cotabato – The NEDA XII staff gathered for their year-end assessment and Internal Planning Conference (Level 1-IPC) for CY 2016 at The Farm@Carpenter Hill, Koronadal City on December 15, 2016.
On behalf of the Regional Director Arturo G. Valero, Assistant Regional Director Noel E. Quiratman gave feedback on the FY 2017 NEDA IPC held on December 7-9, 2016 at Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga with the theme “Meeting the Change Challenge and Ensuring Continuity for AmBisyon Natin 2040.”
ARD Quiratman presented the proposed initiatives to address policy issues/concerns arising from the recent development/emerging challenges, indicative list of FY 2018 NEDA Priorities, refined NEDA Vision-Mission and Values, and suggested concrete measures to enhance greater synergy in inter-office coordination and enhance NEDA’s capacity to anticipate and respond to emerging situation.
As reference in the preparation of the NRO XII indicative work program for 2017, he also discussed the draft NEDA Key Strategies and Priorities for 2017, specifically on Outcome A: “Sound Economic and Development Management Effected” and Outcome B: “Leadership, Management And Innovation.”
In support of the implementation of Quality Management System (QMS) initiatives at NRO XII, ARD Quiratman presented for adoption, the proposed NRO XII Quality Policy which was crafted in a series of QMS Training Workshops in 2014-2015, as well as the proposed NRO XII core values: love of God, patriotism, excellence, professionalism, integrity, unity and culture-sensitive.
The status of the operational and policy implementation issues identified during the mid-year IPC 2016 was discussed by Chief EDS Rosa D. Lemana. Appropriate recommendations were provided for some concerns still to be pursued in 2017.
The year-end assessment provided opportunity for the five divisions of NRO XII to evaluate staff and division performance vis-à-vis the NRO XII Work Program and OPCR Targets in 2016. During the workshops, the divisions also identified three best practices in 2016, other operational and policy issues, including tentative actvities for 2017.
The first level of NRO XII IPC concluded with a Christmas fellowship among NEDAns and a simply recognition ceremony for NAIS awardee 2016. With a joyful spirit, NRO XII staffs looked forward to a vibrant and fruitful 2017. (Evie A. Cabulanan, DRD and Lalaine M. Sajelan, FAD, NEDA XII)
