KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato – The National Economic and Development Authority Regional Office XII garnered a rating of 5 stars for complying with 21 out of 22 indicators during the Energy Audit Spot Check conducted by the Department of Energy – Mindanao Field Office (DOE-MFO) on June 14, 2022.
The DOE-MFO Audit Team led by Engr. Virgilio B. Arzadon, Engr. Mary Natalie C. Acebu, Sheba S. Adlawan, and John Earl Montilla conducted the random spot monitoring and issued energy ratings to validate the agency’s compliance with fuel and electric saving measures and the mandatory implementation of Energy Efficiency and Conservation (EEC) programs, including the strict observance of the Government Energy Management Program (GEMP) guidelines.
The DOE through the Inter-Agency Efficiency and Conservation Committee (IAEECC), with NEDA as a member agency, issued an advisory mandating all government entities to implement EEC programs and impose strict adherence to the GEMP guidelines. By virtue of Republic Act No. 11285, otherwise known as the EEC Act, the IAEECC was created to evaluate and approve the government’s energy efficiency projects, and to provide strategic direction in the implementation of the GEMP.
