
KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato – The National Economic and Development Authority Regional Office XII was among the pioneering batch of government agencies awarded with the Gender and Development Seal on June 27, 2022 at the Paraiso Verde Hotel, Koronadal City.
Along with DILG XII, CSC XII, PRO XII, MGB XII, DTI XII, DOST XII, DOE-Mindanao Field Office, and Sultan Kudarat State University, NRO XII formed part of the agencies who were certified as fully compliant with the parameters set by the Regional Gender and Development Committee XII – Regional Assessment Committee. These include 1) Utilization of at least 5% of the agency’s total budget for GAD; 2) Institutional GAD Focal Point System; 3) Establishment of GAD Database; 4) Functional Committee on Decorum and Investigation; 5) Breastfeeding Station and Child-minding Station; 6) GAD Corner; and 7) GAD-related initiatives or GAD Best Practices.
RD Josephine C. Leysa of DILG XII expressed her appreciation to the staff and agency-representatives who worked behind the realization of the GAD Seal. She announced that the next batch of certification will be conducted next year.
The Gender and Development Seal is initiated by RGADC XII and is the first in the country. With the support and recognition of DILG Central Office, the said endeavor is expected to be replicated nationwide. The said endeavor is also supported by RDC XII Resolution No. 56, series of 2022, entitled “Supporting RGADC XII Resolution No. 04, series of 2022 entitled: Adopting the Guidelines of GAD Seal Certification for the Implementation of National Government Agencies (NGAs) and Local Government Units (LGUs) in Region XII”.
