Koronadal City, South Cotabato – The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Regional Office XII, in partnership with the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center, launched the PPP Knowledge Corner at the NEDA XII Office Building on May 03, 2018 in Koronadal City.

The launching was highlighted by an orientation on the PPP concepts, processes, and benefits through efficient service delivery, and minimization of a project’s lifecycle cost, for the various Regional Line Agencies (RLAs), Local Government Units (LGUs) and State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in SOCCSKSARGEN Region.

The difficulty for some LGUs to establish their own sanitary landfills due to limited technical capability could now be addressed through the assistance of the PPP Center and Knowledge Corner at the NEDA XII, Mayor Lina O. Montilla of Tacurong City emphasized in her message.  She also said: “So nandito na sa Region XII ang PPP Center (through the) knowledge corner, so mas madali na po sa mga LGUs na maka-research dito, so thank you so much and may God Bless us all.”

Director Jomel Anthony V. Gutierrez of the PPP Center responded to the questions raised by the participants relative to the crafting of the Local PPP Code, various procurement processes, and project cost approval at the various development councils.

As defined, the PPP Knowledge Corner will serve as information hub on PPPs, where LGUs, RLAs, SUCs and other stakeholders can get accurate and updated information and knowledge on PPPs, including access to all PPP Center’s services, to help them develop and implement bankable PPP projects.

With the PPP Knowledge Corner, the different stakeholders could now be provided with relevant PPP information, their queries on PPPs addressed, and technical assistance critical in pursuing their PPP projects could easily be facilitated.  (Joseph Didius L. Clave, NEDA XII-DRD)
