City of Koronadal, South Cotabato – The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Regional Office XII oriented the barangay officials of the municipality of Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao on the AmBisyon Natin 2040 during the Forum on Local Governance held on September 15, 2018 at the municipality’s ABC Hall.
The Forum was initiated by Notre Dame University – Graduate School Master of Public Administration, particularly students attending the Seminar on Government Administration and Project Management. OIC-Dean of NDU Graduate School Ms. Delma A. Yuarata, Professor Lalaine M. Sajelan, Bai Anizzah M. Baraacal representing OIC-Mayor Sinsuat, and 2Lt Angel Patungan of the 90th Infantry Batallion, Philippine Army were also present as guests .
Ms. Evie A. Cabulanan, NEDA XII Senior Economic Development Specialist, presented the AmBisyon Natin 2040, which is an anchor for development planning for at least four (4) administrations. The visioning process for the AmBisyon Natin 2040 included the conduct of widespread public consultations, focus group discussions, and national survey of 10,000 households. The result showed that an overwhelming majority of Filipinos aspire for a simple and comfortable life (79%) or “Buhay na simple at maginhawa” in 2040. A simple summation of the vision is: Matatag, Maginhawa at Panatag na Buhay para sa lahat or strongly rooted, comfortable and secure life for all, Ms. Cabulanan said.
To help realize and lay down the foundation for the AmBisyon Natin 2040, the Philippine Development Plan and its regional counterpart, the SOCCSKSARGEN Regional Development Plan, 2017-2022 were formulated under the Duterte’s Administration. The present administration has formally adopted the AmBisyon Natin 2040 through the issuance Executive Order No. 5, Series of 2016.
Barangay officials of the municipality of Datu Odin Sinsuat expressed thanks to NEDA XII for the orientation, which gave them the opportunity to better understand the collective vision of our country and the Filipinos.
