City of Koronadal, South Cotabato – The NEDA Regional Office XII disseminated recently the promotion materials for Japan Development Scholarship (JDS) to major local government units, State Colleges and Universities, private higher education institutions and selected regional line agencies in SOCCSKSARGEN Region. This is in response to the request of Japan International Cooperation Center, in line with The Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship by Japanese Grant Aid for 16th Batch in the Philippines.
JDS aims to support human resources development in the Philippines, targeting prospective young leaders who are engaged in the formulation and implementation of social and economic development policies.
The priority fields of studies of JDS are:
Eligible applicants must be citizens of the Republic of the Philippines; between 22 and 39 years old as of 1 April 2018; must be an employee in the target organization and not a member of the military; have permanent status (in principle) in the target organization; have at least two years of work experience, particularly in work relevant to the selected component, at the time of application; have a performance rating of at least “Very Satisfactory” from 1 July 2016 to 30 June 2017 in the organization; possess a bachelor’s degree relevant to the target fields; and have not been awarded any other foreign scholarships for obtaining a master’s degree. Sixteen years of formal education is required (in principle) for scholars of Kobe University, Nagoya University, and International Christian University, although, relevant academic/research career or working experience can be considered as the alternative to meet the requirement.
