City of Koronadal, South Cotabato – The National Economic and Development Authority Regional Office (NEDA) XII, awarded certificates of appreciation to the Department of Public Works and Highways South Cotabato 1st District Engineering Office (DEO), through District Engineer Eddie M. Amir, and Gemma Construction for their valuable support in the construction and completion of the NEDA XII Office Building. The awarding was done during a special meeting called by NEDA XII on March 22, 2018 at the Mt. Apo Room, NEDA XII Building, Prime Regional Government Center, Carpenter Hill, Koronadal City.
The meeting was headed by NEDA XII Regional Director Arturo G. Valero, together with NEDA XII staff. It was participated in by District Engineer Amir, Asst. District Engineer Soraiyah Ibrahim, Engr. Ehbarley Pescuela, and Accountant Ammiefrance Sarmiento of South Cotabato 1st DEO, and Mr. Joseph Simbulan and Ms. Priscilla Simbulan of the Gemma Construction.
The DPWH was commissioned to construct the three-storey NEDA XII building on December 14, 2014 at an initial cost of PhP40 Million. The construction was awarded to the winning bidder, Gemma Construction. The building construction was started in January 2015.
NEDA XII transferred and started its operation in its new building in January 2016, after the completion of the first and second floors.
An additional amount of PhP30 Million was released in 2017 for the completion of the three-storey building inclusive of garage, fencing, furniture and fixtures and other necessary equipment.
NEDA XII through the staff assigned as project monitors, worked in close coordination with the DPWH South Cotabato 1st DEO assigned personnel and Gemma Construction until its full completion on February 21, 2018, during which NEDA XII held the building’s inauguration and blessing.
